We are seating the founding board and recruiting the first volunteers. These are the roles open right now.
The founding board sets the budget, holds hiring authority, and reviews the outcomes dashboard.
Launch years ask more of a board, so we meet every other month through the pilot, then quarterly.
We are looking for experience in governance, finance, behavioral health, law, or caregiving.
A trained volunteer paired one-to-one with a caregiver or individual served by Lantern & Branch, for a one-year commitment: weekly check-ins for the first six months, then monthly check-ins for the next six.
A check-in can be a quick text or a couple of hours over coffee: a phone call, a text exchange, or time in person, whichever the person you are paired with prefers.
The job is to check in on schedule every week, ask how the week was, and listen.
Companions do not give clinical advice, prescribe, recommend treatment programs, or manage a participant’s life. Every Companion is background checked and completes our training modules before being paired.
Every Companion completes an application, an interview, and a background check, then six training modules over three to four weeks. You sign a written boundaries agreement before being paired with anyone.
